The final Nikkormat model; the Nikkormat EL introduces a new, updated feature that sets it above prior models: an aperture-priority automatic mode; where the light meter will set the shutter speed based on the aperture and film ISO. The Nikkormat EL is the only Nikon camera that offers such a feature, with older, non-AI lenses, made from 1959 to 1976. It does all this, in a similar solid and rugged chassis to the professional Nikon F2.
