Knowing what you have – If you want your home movies or company videos to retain their value for a longer period of time, to be relevant for future generations, then it is important that contextual information be added to the digitized content from films, video, images and audio recordings. We offer custom services to add information in the form of project text notes, metadata, voice-over narratives, on-screen titles, pop-up menus, on-camera interviews, closing credits, etc. Videos and other digital multi-media content that have such embedded information will will tell a better, more relevant story further into the future.

Blu-ray Disc (BD-R) is an excellent optical disc media for better storage and longevity for important records of enduring value. Reduce needed shelf space by digitizing, transferring and organizing contents from many VHS and camcorder tapes and photo albums onto just a few Blu-ray Discs. One BD-R can hold up to 9 hours of standard definition video, or 12,000 images, or 100,000 documents. Plus Blu-ray Discs have a longer active life and archival life than other optical discs. Ask us about our optional Digital Noise Reduction services that enhance video tape content placed on Blu-ray Disc for better presentation on HDTV.

 

The M-DISC from Millenniata is an archival DVD that can retain its content for up to 1,000 years according to the U.S. Dept of the Navy. The M-DISC can hold 2 hours of video as a playable DVD, or 4.7GB of information as a data disc. Make an M-DISC backup copy and store it in the safe deposit box for your most important memories.


We offer Ultrium LTO-5 Tape backup services to customers wanting to place large amounts of video and audio content onto a proven, long term archival tape solution. One (1) LTO-5 tape can store the equivalent of 300 DVDs, holding 1,000 hours of .mp4 video files or 750,000 high resolution photos, or a family’s entire library of movies, photos, and important documents. Ultrium LTO ½” magnetic tapes have been around since 2000, and are a well-supported standard by IBM, HP, Quantum, Sony, DELL and others. The advertised shelf life for LTO tapes is 30 years in proper storage conditions.
