When Minolta launched the Maxxum autofocus system in 1985, they released with it a full system of lenses, including this lens. Capable of focusing down to 1:1 reproduction ratio in a single mechanism (without needing to use an extension tube or other accessory) was already revolutionary, as this lens was the first to do so, but this lens was also the first autofocus macro lens. These advanced features, plus extremely sharp optics, are what attracted people to the Maxxum system.

Includes front and rear caps.

In excellent condition, very light signs of prior use. Optics clear with only mild dust.
