Nikon F2 Chrome with Nikkor 50mm f1.4 Non-AI, Early Kit

Following the success of the original Nikon F, Nikon, then known as Nippon Kogaku, had big shoes to fill with it's predecessor. But they did so, and created arguably one of the best 35mm SLR cameras. The Nikon F2 was introduced in 1971 and improved on every aspect of the original F: faster shutter speed at 1/2000th, improved metering system with in-body battery terminals using modern alkaline batteries (rather than the mercury batteries of it's predecessor), and overall quite literally smoothing out its edges. Maintaining the same modularity that it's predecessor introduced, the Nikon F2 became a mainstay for professional photographers, and remains an absolute classic film SLR.
