Nikon S2 Rangefinder with Nikkor 5cm f1.4

In 1954, Nikon introduced the S2 rangefinder camera, featuring several advancements from its predecessor, and compared to competitors. With a rapid-wind lever, a large, bright combined viewfinder-and-rangefinder window, and a fast, 1/1000th maximum shutter speed, for a moment the Nikon S2 was one of the most advanced rangefinder cameras available; until the Leica M3 hit the market. Nonetheless, the S2 was the most produced of Nikon's rangefinder cameras, and remains an iconic and classic camera to this day, helped by Nikon's legendary lineup of lenses, such as the world's first 50mm (5cm) f1.4 lens.
